Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for supporting handcrafted artistry. Because our pieces are handcrafted from premium, sustainably sourced timber and tailored to each client, we maintain strict quality and production policies to protect the integrity of our craftsmanship.

By placing an order with us, you agree to the following terms:

1. Production Timeline & Order Cancellations

  • Made-to-Order Period: All items carry a standard production timeline of 14 to 30 business days before dispatch, unless stated otherwise.
  • Cancellation Window: Because we procure materials and initiate production immediately, orders can only be canceled or amended within 24 hours of payment for a full refund.
  • After 24 Hours: Once production begins, we cannot issue refunds, cancellations, or modifications, as raw materials and artisan labor have already been allocated to your specific order.

2. Shipping & Delivery Policy

  • Estimated Timelines: Delivery timelines provided at checkout are estimates provided by our courier partners and do not include our 14–30 day production window.
  • Third-Party Delays: While we do everything in our power to ensure timely dispatch, Afrikan Krafterz is not liable for transit delays caused by third-party logistics companies, customs clearances, or adverse weather conditions.
  • No Refunds for Logistics Delays: Delayed delivery by a courier partner does not entitle the customer to a refund or order cancellation.

3. Natural Materials & Product Expectations

  • The Nature of Wood: Wood is a living, organic material. Natural variations in grain pattern, color, knots, and texture are inherent to the material and are celebrated as unique features of handcrafted art. These natural variations are not considered defects.
  • Usage Constraints: Wooden kitchenware requires specific care and cannot withstand extreme temperatures. Wooden plates, bowls, and boards are not suitable for sizzling, open flames, microwaves, ovens, or dishwashers.
  • Exclusion from Refunds: We do not issue refunds or replacements for damage caused by improper product care, nor do we issue refunds if a customer misjudges the inherent functional limitations of natural wooden kitchenware.
  • Environmental Reactions: Wood reacts to its environment. Minor warping, bowing, or hairline surface splits over time due to climate changes, dryness, or humidity in the customer's location are natural characteristics of organic timber and are not considered manufacturing defects. No refunds will be issued for environmental reactions post-delivery.
  • Product Care Voidance: Every order is accompanied by a Product Care Guide. Failure to follow these care instructions—including but not limited to: soaking items in water, washing in a dishwasher, exposing to direct heat/microwaves, or failing to oil the wood periodically—voids any eligibility for replacement, repair, or store credit.
  • Custom Engraving & Bespoke Orders: Any item that has been customized with specific dimensions, corporate logos, names, or bespoke engravings is strictly final sale. We cannot offer replacements or adjustments for errors in text or design provided by the customer. Please double-check all spelling and design proofs before finalizing your order.

4. Returns & Exchanges

  • All Sales Are Final: Due to the bespoke, made-to-order nature of our kitchenware, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, aesthetic preferences regarding wood grain, or buyer's remorse.
  • Dispute Resolution: By purchasing from us, you agree to contact Afrikan Krafterz directly to resolve any issues before initiating a chargeback or dispute with your financial institution. In the event of an unmerited chargeback, this policy will be submitted to the bank as legal proof that the customer agreed to our production timelines, natural wood variations, and non-refundable terms prior to purchase.
  • Damaged or Defective Items: In the rare event that your item arrives structurally defective or damaged during transit, please contact us at support@afrikankrafterz.com within 48 hours of delivery.
    • You must provide clear photographs and videos of the damage and the original packaging.
    • If approved, we will gladly arrange a repair or craft a replacement for you at no additional cost. Refunds for transit damage are only issued if a replacement is entirely impossible.
